Shane Confectionary Hand Made Cough Drops

Botanical cough drops made on our 19th cent. drop roller. 

Our Switchel variety is made using using all-natural Apple Cider Vinegar, honey, lemon, ginger, and hint of cayenne pepper. Switchel, once known as “haymaker’s punch,” was popular among Philadelphia-area farmers & laborers between 1700s and 1900s. Switchel is an old-school electrolyte drink that often combines apple cider vinegar, water, lemon, a sweetener (such as honey, sugar, or molasses,) with a spice. In our area, ginger and cayenne pepper are most often included, and has become our current favorite variation.  

Each hard candy drop is embossed with “COUGH.” No added dyes or flavor extracts.

This packaging was inspired by 19th century cough drop box in the archives of Shane Confectionery.
