Fair Play Art Activity Saturday March 14th 11am - 2pm. 

Corinne Gill and Molly Schnick of Fair Play Project will be in our atelier teaching us embroidery!! 

Learn to Embroider with Fair Play Projects! 

A free, informal embroidery workshop for kids ages 6+ (and adults too!) with the founders of Fair Play Projects. We will teach the basics of embroidery and hand-sewing by making mini samplers and tiny pillows. With the skills you learn you'll be ready to make a Little Pocket Pal (to go with the pillow!) or any other embroidery project. Tiny Pillow supplies and instruction will be provided and Fair Play Projects kits will be available for purchase. Kids must be accompanied by an adult and those under 8 may require some hands on support.

Story Time with a local author, Ioana Stoian April 18th Saturday 10:30am

This colourful, rhyming board book celebrates and accepts each and every child, just as they are. Messages of love, acceptance, empathy, inclusion and diversity are paired with fun, unique hand-cut paper illustrations. This book will appeal to children and adults alike and sends the message we all need to hear -- be true to yourself!

Earth Day Vintage sale April 22nd (details TBA)

Dinosaur Hampton Pop-up April 25th Saturday 11am-2pm 

Dinosaur Hampton  will be back in our atelier to customize your totes, jackets, denim...etc Bring your own item or buy something from our shop!

Halloween Monster Drawing Exchange October 26th Saturday Noon - 3pm

Our second annual monster drawing exchange! 

Featuring "Kaiju Master" - Eric Schuster 

Nobody knows Japanese 'Kaiju' monsters like Eric, and he will have lots of projects and art to share and even Kaiju card decks and posters to sell in our atelier Kinoko. Kids, come in in your halloween costumes and bring a monster drawing or make one here and Eric will draw you one to take home!!

Story Time Sunday September 29th at 10:30 

Introducing "All The Ways To Be Smart" story by Davina Bell, illustrated by Allison Colpoys.

5 Week Session: Aug 2- Aug 30 1-1:30PM Ages 5-9 (Parents/Caregiver side-by-side learning option available too)

Learn the basics of the ukulele thru experimentation, imitation, improvisation, and creation while supporting basic rhythm and pitch competency. Facilitated by Mark Sorvari. A typical class includes playing, singing, dancing, and musical games!

Children can learn on their own OR choose the caregiver/child side by side learning option and learn together.

Don’t have a Ukulele? You can purchase an entry level Mahalo Soprano Uke at the first class from the instructor for $35. Available in various colors: pink, purple, red, black, blue.

Chess Class

Paperapple Pop-Up Sale 

August 17th Saturday from 12pm to 3pm. We are excited to have another woman own business- Paperapple in our atelier selling their paper goods. They will have a fun and cute craft for kids also. Can't wait to see what they bring!! 

Open Doors at 38th & Grand 

Join us for our second annual "Open Doors" at 38th & Grand in Minneapolis, Saturday August 24th! Our neighborhood intersection of local businesses is excited to welcome you with open doors. Meet friends and neighbors for live music, sips and bites, kids games, art and shopping and more!

Chess Class

NOW ENROLLING!! Register on "Classes/Workshop Registration" section on our site.

August 16-30th Friday from 5:30-6:15. 45 minutes, kids ages 7 & up. 

Edward Vogel will be teaching you easy to follow card and dice method. Meet other kids who are interested in playing chess! We will provide all materials/tools needed.

July 13th Saturday at 10:30am. We will have a Japanese Storytime!  We will be reading some Japanese books including our favorite "Chirri & Chirra". We will be teaching few easy Japanese words. Kids receive a free gift! This is a free event, open to public.

Pink Linen Design Pop-up Sale

June 29th Saturday from 12 to 3p.m. Kait from Pink Linen Designs will be in our atelier selling her work. Pink Linen Designs products are locally made here in Minnesota, hand drawn, whimsical, unique, pieces of art. She draws inspiration from her three girls who are very creative and love to give her ideas. You don't want to miss this pop-up sale!

BLOKL Jewelry Bar Pop-up Sale

June 22nd Saturday 12 - 2pm

Just in time for Pride Weekend fun. Come meet and support our friend Edward Vogel who designed "BLOKL". Each BLOKL cube block is about the size of a quarter and costs fifty cents. Necklace cords are available for one dollar or bring your own. BLOKL's 63pc kit will also be on hand. It has enough pieces to build the famous SOMA cubes and Pentonino puzzles along with chess pieces and where ever your imagination takes you!

June 15th-16th Father's Day Weekend: bring your kids to our brand new atelier Kinoko and make a small bouquet of flowers in a decorated jar and a handmade card for $7.  Saturday from 12-6pm and Sunday from 10-4 (or while supplies last).

Macrame Workshop

May 4th Saturday we will be hosting another adult beginner macrame class! Talented Rubyellen Bratcher is back in Minneapolis teaching us how to make a macrame plant hanging at our brand new Atelier Kinoko. *Tickets can be purchased under "Classes/Workshop" on our site.

March 26th-28th we will be CLOSED for our big move! Our new address is right around the corner: 3803 Grand Ave. S...right across the street from Grand Cafe.

We'll be moving at the end of the month! Don't worry- were just moving around the corner to the former Sugar Sugar space. We'll be open as usual in our current space until the last week of March. We plan to open in the new pace at 3803 Grand Ave. S on the 29th of March!!

Kinoko Kids will have a booth at third annual "Last Call", a highly curated market where you can do all your last minute holiday shopping. Many other local venders, food, drinks and you can even wrap your purchases at their DIY gift wrapping table for free. Come say hello!!

 Come to Kinoko Kids with your young craft enthusiast and learn how to use one of our very favorite crafting tools- the Pom Maker by Moon Picnic! We will go over the basics of using this wonderful tool and do a fun project together. You can buy your pom maker in-store and get 20% off (ticket must be purchased in order to get your discount) OR if you already have one bring yours. We now carry two sizes of Pom Maker- either will work for this workshop although some kids may find the larger doughnut version easier to use. You can bring a ball of black yarn if you have it...we'll have some black acrylic yarn to share- if you prefer wool bring a ball!
